About LTC

In 2002, Sustainable Harvest started its Let’s Talk Coffee® initiative to connect members of the specialty coffee supply chain and provide a forum for coffee farmer training. Hundreds of farmers, cooperative leaders, roasters, baristas, and other industry experts travel from around the world to attend the annual Let’s Talk Coffee® event each October, meeting face-to-face with their colleagues and learning from one another about the latest innovations in our field.

Components of the Let’s Talk Coffee® program include the annual event, peer-to-peer farmer training projects, and other initiatives to share innovation among coffee farmers throughout Latin America and East Africa.

History of the Let’s Talk Coffee Event:

Sustainable Harvest has increased the size and scope of Let’s Talk Coffee® every year since its inception, due to increased demand from participants. In 2009, we held our largest event ever, hosting over 300 guests from 20 countries for the four-day event in Montelimar, Nicaragua.

By bringing diverse partners from our supply chain together for Let’s Talk Coffee®, we are able to provide trainings and lectures on a wide variety of topics, ranging from organic production to world market affairs and the latest brewing and barista technology. Presentations from expert agronomists, farmers, cooperative leaders, and baristas alike draw on the full breadth of expertise available in the coffee supply chain.
